Types of Implants
Saline Implants- Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water, and may be pre-filled at a predetermined size of filled at the time of surgery. These implants are said to be a bit firmer than the other options.
Silicone Implants- Silicone implants are filled with a soft, silicone gel, and are available in a variety of shapes. All silicone breast implants are pre-filled, and may require a longer incision to place them. These implants are said to feel closest to natural breast tissue.
Form Stable Implants – Form stable implants, also known as cohesive gel implants or gummy bear implants, are filled with a cohesive gel. This gel is made up of cross-linked molecules of silicone, which makes these implants a bit thicker and firmer than traditional silicone implants. This enables them to hold their shape better.
