The vaginal rejuvenation Tampa procedure is a cosmetic surgical and non-surgical process that beautifies the vagina to your liking and comfort. Many women experience changes in the vaginal structure and response after childbirth, or as part of the aging process.

Now, with new technologies accessible, women have more choices to correct their discomfort. There are new selections that are effective, easy and painless. The time has come for a safe and effective treatment that is quick and comfortable for women’s care.

What is a Labiaplasty:

Labiaplasty is usually performed as an outpatient procedure and done under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. The techniques used during the procedure will vary depending on the personal needs of the patient. Most women can return to everyday activities within a week or two, though it is recommended that patients refrain from sexual intercourse and strenuous exercise for a bit longer.

Depending on the patient’s concern, any of the following substitute surgeries can be performed:

  • If there is too much skin, a patient may want to consider a labia majora plasty.
  • Some women may have long or bulky outer vaginal lips (labia majora), in addition to a large labia minora. The labia majora can be reduced in size through excision.
  • Women who complain of excess skin along the top of the clitoris can benefit from clitoral hood reduction. This form of labial surgery surgically trims down the clitoral hood to decrease bulkiness.
  • Vaginal rejuvenation utilizes dermal fillers to plump up the surrounding area as well as correct vaginal dryness – this treatment is also known as labia puffing. As a non-surgical procedure, it is very appropriate for women that are anxious about undergoing invasive surgery.

Who is a Candidate for Labiaplasty?

Women with large labia folds understand the discomfort that they cause, including tugging during sexual intercourse, activities like riding a bike, or wearing tight clothing. Women may also experience low self-confidence to due to their large labia folds, and wish to undergo the procedure for cosmetic reasons. Dr. Shienbaum can address your vaginal appearance and restore it to a more pleasant and comfortable size.

What is recovery like from Labiaplasty?

Following surgery, bruising and swelling may occur, and any discomfort can be controlled with medication. Patients are recommended to rest in bed for the first couple of days to avoid irritation that may occur with walking. Many patients can return to work within a week, depending on the type of job. Patients should avoid sexual intercourse for one month. Be sure to follow Dr. Shienbaum’s specific post-op instructions for best results.
