Aging is an inevitable part of life, and wrinkles and lines are bound to show up eventually. However, just because aging is unpreventable, doesn’t mean there aren’t steps that you can take to combat it. Botox and dermal fillers in Brandon are popular and easy solutions for smoothing wrinkles and lines, without surgery. However, while both of these treatments are injectable, they differ in many ways. Read on to learn more about these treatments and how they differ.

Botox

Botox is a neuromodulator that is made up of Botulinum Toxin type A. This injectable treatment works by temporarily relaxing facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles when they contract. Botox is most commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and at the corners of the eyes. Results from Botox can last anywhere from 3-6 months.

Fillers

Fillers are used to add volume under the skin to smooth smile lines, restore volume in hollow areas of the face, and plump the lips. Many fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that attracts and binds water under the skin, creating youthful volume. At our office, we offer Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Sculptra. Results from fillers can last anywhere from six months to two years, depending on the formula used.

As you can see, these two injectable options are very different. If you are interested in learning more about these treatment options and which one is best for you, contact our Brandon office today!
