Gretel had liposuction to address her waist, back, arms, and legs. She also had tissue transferred to her buttocks and cheeks. With help from Dr. Shienbaum, Gretel went from a size 13 to a size 9 pant.

“It gives you that little push,” she said about her surgery. “You want to keep going, to keep losing weight, and to keep looking better for yourself.”

Gretel noted that she likes how clothes fit her, and trying on things again from her closet.

“I look in the mirror and am like, ‘It’s me! It’s me again!’” she said. “Before, I didn’t know who that was.”

Gretel also mentioned that this was not her first time choosing surgery. She had not been satisfied with her previous results.

“I had to look for specific things,” she said about her new search for doctors. “That touch that would give me that calm feeling.”

Gretel took one consultation with Dr. Shienbaum and felt that she had found that feeling.

“I knew what I was going to do. He knew what he was going to do. We were on the same page,” she said.

“He gave me my answers before I had to ask anything.”

Using identifiable examples, Dr. Shienbaum explained how Gretel would look after surgery. Gretel liked that Dr. Shienbaum gave her an idea of how she would look at a place like the beach.

“Simple. To the point,” she said. “It was sweet.”
