Types of Implants: Augmentation
Mammoplasty involves placement of a Silicone
or Saline (saltwater) implant. The FDA has
approved these implants, which are available
in multiple profiles, textures, and sizes.
At your consultation you will be given every
opportunity to carefully select the breast
implants which best fulfills your needs and
expectations. You may choose either a
Silicone or Saline implant, high or low
profile, teardrop or round, textured or
smooth. Dr. Shienbaum prefers the round
implant with an enhanced profile and
generally reserves the teardrop implant for
breast reconstruction procedures. In the
Tampa Bay area, Dr. Shienbaum has found
these enhanced profile implants to be the
most popular and desirable for cosmetic
breast augmentation.
Planning Your Surgery: The staff at

which time your desires will be discussed. During the consultation, you will visit with

with the opportunity to be fitted with
several sizes of implants. You will also
be provided photos of previous patients so
